Build A Better Marketing Mouse Trap
Finding ideas to use as a guide is a fairly simple process whereby you gather enough basic ideas to use within your present website or one your planning on starting and develop a more content rich and effective web design. A good website can be built with limited resources and a simple content management system. My preference is working with WordPress which is a great backend to have a presence on the web.
Think about the old saying ” build a better mouse trap” for a second. What does that really mean? Basically, what your trying to do is improve on an existing idea and build into it some of your own ideas so that you can have your own working business model that works.
This may sound unethical but it is being done on the internet everyday! So, for the sake of simplicity, if your planning on entering into any “internet marketing” niche then you would find all the information that you can about “internet marketing”. You would then take those ideas from each article and write your own in depth article that would let you become the expert in that niche. Write articles about – Google adword, hosting, website design, marketing online etc, and any other type of keywords you need to be successful online. I would recommend that you write no less than 8 articles about your niche and then post them on your website. This will help to make you an authority on your particular niche.
Key elements to “build a better marketing mouse trap” might include:
- what type of business are you planning on getting into?
- who is you present competition?
- Have you brainstormed possible ideas to come up with a plan?
- What keywords actually are selling your niche effectively?
- Do you have the resources available to put your plan into action?
- What are the costs involved in putting your plan into action?
- Begin your search to “build a better mouse trap”.
- Follow through and take action.
Again back to the “internet marketing” example. If your planning on being the expert with this niche and want information and ideas on this type of niche then you would consider using one of the more popular search engines online to help you out. Of course each search engine does have information indexed differently and so you should consider doing multiple searches on different search engines. This will give you a lot more results. Type in keywords in Google, Yahoo, MSN
Let’s consider using www.google.com which is the king of all search engines out there today. As an “online marketing” nichepert I would type in keywords like Google adword, hosting, website design, marketing onine . Write down or print out anything that you consider important to your business model. Remember your only using this information as a reference, your not plagiarizing it.
Now organize the information in order of importance so that you can logically look at each one and expand on it. Use Google’s Keyword Tool and find out how many searches people are doing for that particular keyword. The higher the search term results the more possible traffic you will be able to get to your website. Keep in mind that the internet is keyword sensitive and that your ideas need to be clear and precise in terms of keywords.
Try and put an importance on a few key ideas so they can be implemented into your plans. Its important that out of all the research you will be doing, try and develop a PLAN so that you have at least a few core ideas to build on.
Planning is an ongoing job and you should consider keeping up to date on new developments. Always log the keywords that you use. Keep notes of which search engines you used with what key words so that you can track as use as future reference.
Keep organized notes and have fun finding information, technologies and new unique products that you could use as part of your business online.
